Ethan G. Salwen is an independent editorial writer specializing in topics of photography. Topics include artist profiles, how-to articles, industry trends, business strategies and the influence of evolving technologies in the creative process and marketing strategies.

Ethan is a regular contributor to Rangefinder, AfterCapture, The Picture Professional (ASPP) and Currents (NANPA). Since 2006 he has written for for the American Society of Picture Professionals ASMP Bulletin, and also contributed four chapters to the association’s highly regarded businees book, “ASMP Professional Business Practices in Photography, 7th Edition”

Other recent credits include on United Airline’s Hemispheres magazine, PhotoWorld China, Expressions (NANPA), Insight (ADBASE) and two chapters for the book “Digital Stock Photography: How to Shoot and Sell” by Michal Heron.

Since 2008 Ethan has worked as a professional blogger, providing diverse content and project manangment oversight for AfterCapture’s blog, “On Photography.”

Before going solo Ethan worked for three years as the editor-in-chief of Children & Families (NHSA) and as a senior editor of Sholastic’s Instructor magazine. Working for these national magazines taught Ethan how well with diverse editors, developing content and gearing writing to the specific needs of each publication and audience.
